By clue 8, the five real estate agents are Ben, Long, the one who sold the colonial-style
home, the realtor who sold the property in The Heights, and the one who sold a
house to the Guevaras. By clue 12, Alan, who isn't Long, sold the Victorian-style
house. In clue 8, then, the house is in The Heights or was bought by the Guevaras.
First we try the house Alan sold being in The Heights. By clue 2, Trump sold the
ranch-style home, but not to the Guevaras. Trump would be Ben. By clue 5, the Whites
purchased a townhouse; they would have bought it from realtor Long, and the Guevaras
would have bought the Cape Cod. Neither the ranch (10) nor the townhouse (5) sold by
Long (14) is in Mount Holly or Wheatfields, so the Guevaras' Cape Cod would have to be
in one of those estates--no (9). Therefore, the Victorian isn't in The Heights; Alan
sold it to the Guevaras. By clue 2, Trump sold the ranch-style home; in clue 8, then,
either Trump is Ben or the ranch-style house is in The Heights. Trying Ben as Trump,
Foster isn't Jack (6), Cindy, or Alan (15) and would be Terri. Terri didn't sell the
colonial (1) and would have sold the house in The Heights. By clue 5, the Whites
bought a townhouse, either from Long or Terri Foster. If the Whites had bought from
Long, the townhouse wouldn't have been in Wheatfields (5), Creekside, or Mount Holly
(14) and would have been in Barnacle Bay. However, neither Jack (3) nor Cindy (5)
could have sold the house. If the Whites had bought their townhouse from Terri Foster
in The Heights, Long would have sold the Cape Cod and would be Cindy (3), with Jack then
the realtor who sold the colonial. The Cape Cod Cindy Long would have sold wouldn't
have been in Wheatfields, Mount Holly (9), or Creekside (14) and would have been in
Barnacle Bay. The ranch would have been in Creekside (10) and would have been purchased
by the Bergers (13). The Klines would have bought the colonial (11) and the Dixons the
Cape Cod from Cindy Long--a conflict (4). So, Ben cannot be Trump. Trump sold the
ranch-style house in The Heights. Foster isn't Jack (6), Cindy, or Alan (15). If
Foster were Terri, Terri Foster would have sold the colonial (8)--no (1). Foster is Ben.
If Ben Foster had sold the townhouse to the Whites (5) and Long had then sold the
Cape Cod, the Cape Cod wouldn't be in Wheatfields, Mount Holly (9), or Creekside (14)
and would be in Barnacle Bay. But neither the Dixons (4), Klines (11), nor Bergers (13)
would then have bought the Cape Cod. So, the Whites bought their new townhouse from
Long, and Ben Foster sold the Cape Cod. The townhouse isn't in Wheatfields (5),
Creekside, or Mount Holly (14) and is in Barnacle Bay. The Cape Cod is in Creekside (9).
The Bergers didn't buy from Ben Foster (6) and didn't buy the colonial-style house (13),
so they bought a ranch-style house from Trump. Jack isn't Long (3) or Trump (6) and
thus sold the colonial--to the Klines (11), with the Dixons buying the Cape Cod.
Jack's surname is Hammersmith and Alan's Good (11). Jack Hammersmith sold the colonial
in Wheatfields and Alan Good the Victorian in Mount Holly (7). Terri is Long and
Cindy Trump (5). The five sales by the Century 22 agents last week are
- Alan Good sold the Victorian in Mount Holly to the Guevaras
- Ben Foster sold the Cape Cod in Creekside to the Dixons
- Cindy Trump sold the ranch in The Heights to the Bergers
- Jack Hammersmith sold the colonial in Wheatfields to the Klines
- Terri Long sold the townhouse in Barnacle Bay to the Whites
