| According to the introduction, each of the 24 faces of the Letter Dice has
a different letter on it. Given the word TROY, we arbitrarily assign T to
die 1, R to die 2, O to die 3, and Y to die 4. From BOAT, A can't go on a
die with T or O; and from EASY, A isn't on die 4 with Y. A is on die 2
with R. From BOAT, then, the B is on die 4 with Y. Since the E isn't on
the same die as O (CONE), the E in EASY must be on die 1, with the S on die
3 with the O. From JANE, the N can't be on die 2 with A; so the N in CONE
is from die 4 and the C on a die 2 face. The J in JANE is from die 3.
From HOUR, H isn't on die 3 with O. Given the word HAVE, then, H is on die
4 and V on die 3. U is on die 1 (HOUR). From GOLD, L isn't on die 3; the
L in MEAL is on die 4, with the M from die 3. From WISP, P isn't on die 3.
Therefore, FLAP puts the P on die 1; and the F is the sixth and final letter
on die 3. If the I in MIKE were on die 2 and the K then the sixth and final
letter on die 4, there would be no way to make WISP. The I in MIKE then
must be the sixth and final letter on die 4, and the K is on die 2. WISP's
W also is on die 2. If the G in GOLD were on die 1 and the D were the final
letter on die 2, there would be no way to form ZIGS. GOLD's G is on die 2
and D on die 1. Z completes die 1 (ZIGS). In sum, the four dice of Letter
Dice 3 are
