| In clue 2, all five girls are named: Laurie, the girl who attended the
Prom with Chad, Emily, the Norris girl, and the girl who went to the
dance with Jeff. By clue 2, the boy who took Vicki to the prom isn't
Chad or Jeff; of the five girls listed above, then, Vicki must be
the Norris girl. The Swift boy isn't Chad, Jeff, or Vicki's date
(clue 2); since he didn't take Laurie to the dance (4), he must have
invited Emily. Again using clue 2, where none of the girls danced with
her own Prom date, Laurie danced with Jeff, Chad's date with the Swift
boy, the Norris girl with Chad, and Vicki's date with Jeff's date;
this leaves Emily dancing with the boy who took the Palmer girl--who
must be Laurie. Chad and Jeff took Heidi and Melody, in some order,
to the dance. In clue 1, then, Emily is the Isaacs girl. Chad didn't
go with the Forrest girl (7), so Jeff did; and Chad took the Yates girl.
Melody is the Forrest girl, and Heidi is Yates (3). By clue 1, Emily's
date wasn't Greg; nor was he Tim (6). Emily went to the Senior Prom
with Ben. Neither Chad nor Jeff is the Walters boy (1), nor is the
Walters boy the one who took Vicki Norris to the dance (5). The Walters
boy invited Laurie to the prom. By clue 1, then, Greg's Prom date was
Vicki. By elimination, the Walters boy is Tim. The Austin boy is Greg
(3). By clue 8, Jeff's last name is Kennedy; and Chad's is Draper.
