Then the girl whose excuse was that she had to watch "American Idol" would
have been the 1st one Sammy invited (7) and would be the Flowers or Hart
girl--no (2). So, Alexis was the 3rd of the five girls Sammy invited to
the big dance. By clue 1, then, the Love girl was 4th and the girl who said
she had to practice on her cello was 5th. If Alexis were the Ring girl,
by clue 4, the Candy girl would have been 5th to be asked, and the girl
who said she had to watch "American Idol" would be either the Flowers or
Hart girl (7)--no (2). So, since Alexis isn't the Ring girl and isn't the
Flowers or Hart girl (8), Alexis is the Candy girl. By clue 4, then, Julia
was 2nd on Sammy's list, and the girl whose excuse was taking her cat to the

excuse, and the Ring girl told Sammy she had to practice her cello. Grace is
the Love girl (3). Rachel told Sammy she had to take her cat to the vet (6).
By elimination, Kristin is the Ring girl. Julia didn't make the heart tattoo
excuse(9); Alexis did, and Julia told Sammy she had to catch up on her phys.
