By clue 2, the Epsteins have been married twice as long as Will and his
wife; while by clue 6, Jasmine and her husband have been wed twice as long
as the couple second-honeymooning in the Rose Cottage. Since no two couples
have been married the same number of years (introduction) and since Will and
his wife aren't staying in the Rose Cottage (clue 9), the possible overlaps
between clues 2 and 6 are that the Epsteins are staying in the Rose Cottage
or that Will and Jasmine are husband-and-wife. In either case, given that
the fewest number of years any of the five couples has been wed is 15 (1),
then another couple would be celebrating their 30th and a second couple would
be celebrating their 60th anniversary--no, since the longest any of the
couples has been married is 50 years (1). So, four different couples are
named between clues 2 and 6: Mr. & Mrs. Epstein, Will and his wife, Jasmine
and her husband, and the couple second-honeymooning in the Rose Cottage.
By clue 2, neither the Epsteins nor Will and his wife are staying in the
Bridal Veil Cottage; nor are Jasmine and her spouse (10). Therefore, the
couple staying in the Bridal Veil Cottage are the fifth couple to the four
in clues 2 and 6. Nina and her husband aren't enjoying the Bridal Veil
Cottage (10). If Nina and her husband were staying in the Rose Cottage,
since by clues 1 and 7 they have been married at least 35 years, Jasmine
and her husband would have been married 70 years (6)--no (1). Similarly,
if Nina were Will's wife and they had been wed at least 35 years (1,7), the
Epsteins would have been wed 70 years (2)--also no (1). So, Nina is Mrs.
Epstein. Since the Epsteins then aren't staying in Cupid's Cottage (7) and
Will and his wife aren't staying in Cupid's Cottage (9), Jasmine and her
husband are staying there. By clues 1 and 7, Jasmine and her husband have
been married at most 30 years; while by clues 1 and 6, Jasmine and her
husband have been wed at least 30 years. Jasmine and her husband are
celebrating their 30th anniversary. Then the couple staying in the Rose
Cottage have been married 15 years (6), Paul and his wife have been married
40 and the Epsteins have been married 50 years (7), and Will and his wife
have been husband-and-wife for 25 years (2). Paul and his wife must be the
couple second-honeymooning in the Bridal Veil Cottage. By clue 8, Will and
his wife are the couple in True Love Cottage, with Ted and his wife in
Rose Cottage. By elimination, the Epsteins are staying in Valentine Cottage.
By clue 5, Rick is Mr. Epstein; and Paul is Mr. Chandler. By elimination,
Steve is married to Jasmine. They aren't the Bronsons (3), nor are Will
and his wife (8); Ted is Mr. Bronson. By clue 4, Leah and Will are the
Dixons, with Jasmine and Steve then the Allmans. Karen is married to
Paul (1) and Michelle to Ted. In sum, the five couples second-honeymooning
at Tie the Knot Lodge are
- Nina & Rick Epstein, Valentine Cottage, 50 years
- Karen & Paul Chandler, Bridal Veil Cottage, 40 years
- Jasmine & Steve Allman, Cupid's Cottage, 30 years
- Leah & Will Dixon, True Love Cottage, 25 years
- Michelle & Ted Bronson, Rose Cottage, 15 years
